Senate to vote on Kraninger for BCFP director Thursday

first_img continue reading » Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) announced the Senate will vote Thursday on the nomination of Kathy Kraninger to lead the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection. Kraninger was nominated to replace Acting Director Mick Mulvaney, and was approved by the Senate Banking Committee in August.“We thank Majority Leader McConnell for scheduling floor time for the vote, as credit unions and other financial services stakeholders look forward to having a permanent director in place,” said CUNA President/CEO Jim Nussle.Kraninger currently serves in the Office of Management and Budget and has previously worked in the U.S. Senate and the Department of Homeland Security.
