Vijay Sethupathi to play lead heroines father in his 2nd Telugu film

first_imgVijay Sethupathi has two Telugu films in his kitty nowPR HandoutTamil actor Vijay Sethupathi, who is fondly called Makkal Selvan by his fans, is making his Telugu debut with Chiranjeevi starrer Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. This film is the biopic of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, who is said to be the first freedom fighter from the Telugu speaking people. Vijay will be seen playing the role of Raaja Paandi, a Tamil-speaking guy who is said to be someone like an assistant to Narasimha Reddy. While this is his first Telugu film, he had signed the second one a few months ago. This film is titled Uppena and marks the debut of Panja Vaishnav Tej, the younger brother of Panja Sai Dharam Tej, and nephew of Megastar Chiranjeevi. Vaishnav will be seen playing a fisherman in this film which is going to be a commercial entertainer. Kriti Shetty, a Mangalore-based damsel, will make her debut as the leading lady.It is learnt that Vijay Sethupathi is going to play the father of the heroine. And this role is said to be an author-backed role which is going to be one of the highlights of the film. Sources have reported that Vijay was impressed with the script and immediately gave his nod to the film which is being bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers. The film is currently in the pre-production stage and is expected to go on floors in the next couple of months.Uppena is being directed by Buchhi Babu Sana, who is a debutante. Babu has assisted director Sukumar for many films and has become popular after writing dialogues for Rangasthalam with three more assistants. Over 200 BJP workers switch over to Trinamool in S Dinajpur

first_imgBalurghat: Ahead of the rural polls in Bengal, district general secretary of BJP’s South Dinajpur unit Uttam Dutta, along with 200 of his followers, joined Trinamool Congress. They attended a programme at Tapan School on Tuesday evening, where the chairman of Gangarampur civic body and Trinamool leader Prasanta Mitra handed over the Trinamool flag to Dutta and his followers. Dutta was the former secretary of BJP’s state committee’s farmers cell (Kishan Morcha). “I was in the wrong party, which stressed division and polarisation of people instead of development. I have joined Trinamool Congress as it is a party that works for development, beyond the lines of religion. Also, Trinamool Chief Mamata Banerjee always backs farmers for their overall development, which has also inspired me to shift,” he said. Dutta had distanced himself from the party’s activities for the past six months and did not attend meetings of the cell. A rumour broke out some days ago that Dutta is likely to join the ruling party. He had also expressed his desire to join Trinamool then. Dutta, who worked for the development of local farmers in Tapan block, is very popular in the region. KMC to crack down on packaged milk adulteration

The decision of the civic body comes in the wake of complaints over the quality of packaged milk of a few reputed brands.”We have been receiving complaints regarding a few brands. We will be picking formal samples from shops and conduct test in our food safety laboratory. If we find any irregularity, action will be taken as per laws of violation of Food Safety & Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) Act,” a senior official of the food safety wing said. The adulterants include caustic soda, detergent, glucose and refined oil among others. More than six billion people consume milk and milk products across the world. It is our duty to ensure that milk quality is not compromised with,” the official added.The World Health Organisation (WHO) had recently issued an advisory to the Government of India stating that if adulteration of milk and milk products is not checked immediately, 87 percent of citizens would be suffering from serious diseases like cancer by the year 2025.last_img read more

Category 3 Hurricane Bud heads north off Mexican coast

first_img Monday, June 11, 2018 Travelweek Group Share MEXICO CITY – Hurricane Bud grew to Category 3 force off Mexico’s Pacific coast on Monday, but forecasters said it was likely to weaken before a possible brush with the resort-dotted southern tip of the Baja California peninsula late in the week.The U.S. National Hurricane Center said Bud had maximum sustained winds of 115 mph (185 kph) Monday morning. It was centred about 235 miles (380 kilometres) southwest of Manzanillo, Mexico, and was moving northwest at 10 mph (17 kph).Forecasters said Bud was expected to strengthen further before a slow weakening trend starts Tuesday.“Significantly cooler waters around the southern tip of Baja California should reduce Bud’s intensity below hurricane status before it reaches that land,” the centre said.The Hurricane Center said the storm could generate swells that cause life-threatening surf and rip currents over the coming days along Mexico’s southwestern coast.
